Guilin, or in this case, Yangshuo, about two hours by car from Guilin, is worth the journey. And thanks!

Oh...I forgot to mention that I was in China to give lectures at a university and a teaching hospital in Hangzhou. But the time spent where this lone gleaner was working, was just for fun n the region near Guilin.

The mountains, or that lone gleaner...? :D The mountains do have, in my view, a kind of imposing and eerie look. This is heightened by the haze that usually surrounds them, and by the little trees that cling to them, like shaggy carpet. Thanks, and Hi Sue!

Thanks. Yes, that fog seem almost always present in this region so covered with lakes, rivers, and rice paddies.
